This is the 1st time attending staff summit together with my fiancee. It was a good and refreshing time for us. There are so many things God taught me in this summit that i needed Him to empower me to change. One of these is a message by Jason on the second night. I really admire his tender and compassionate heart he has towards God and people. Truly inspired by what he shared. Time to stay focus and press in and lay hold of God's call, promise and destiny for my life. How easily I am distracted always by focusing on my self-centered desires...

My wedding Day falls on 13th March 2010 which is 4 months and 6 days away from today. Things are tightening up as i see the days flying so fast. Pray for me that God will give me the wisdom, joy and strength to handle the ministry load in ISM, support raising, coaching a new trainee and also wedding preparations.

Ronald finally can cycle

After so many years of failure in learning cycling, last friday on 30th October, i finally can cycle after 2 hours of coaching from my fiancee. I was a hazard on the road at East Coast Park. I hit trees, bushes, drains, dustbins and people before a uncle who is a janitor at the ECP can't stand me hitting into things and hurting myself. He gave me a good push and surprisingly that gave me the 1st steps to my journey of cycling. With love, care and motivation from my fiancee, i finally can cycle :) She is indeed a blessing fro God to me.

Stretched but not broken

Finally it has been almost 1 year plus since i have time to blog. :) so here i am sharing something that God has been doing and will do in the recent months. From June 09, I am no longer in SP. I have been moved to a new ministry reaching the international students. We have seen thus far in this 5 months plus of ministry, 10 people receiving Christ :) While in the midst of ministry hype, I found myself very stretched by the things happening in my life. My financial support took a crash but God is still faithfully providing through the faithful supporters whom i am deeply thankful and grateful for standing by me all these while. My status from single to married will take place on 13th March 2010 (4 months more to go). Coaching a new stinter can be challenging too but i enjoy the times spent together with Si Ming :) so in the midst of feeling stretched, God is the one who holds on to me and make sure that i am not broken. Even if i break into pieces, He can make it back again :) Let's run or life marathon for the one who laid His life on the Cross for us. Jesus Christ, our author and perfecter of our faith!

My journey in search for love

Love has always been the top questions in my life. Am i truly loved for who i am? Am I worthy of anyone to love me? what if they know the 'real' me would their eyes look at me in a different light? That prompted me to search for love and many times its in the wrong direction getting myself hurt in the process. Until I realised human love is not the love that I really wanted. At times our love can be short-lived, selfish and at times expressed in the wrong ways. I crave for something better something more than this. If you face similar questions as i do, I invite you to explore the possibility of someone who loves and accepts you the way that you are. Who never leave or desert you in times of trouble. SP CCA showcase and Phyllis Birthday

This week was a very busy and tiring week for me as my Campus had our CCA showcase fair from monday till wednesday. We gave out almost 1200 bottles of New Water to the freshmen who came to the fair. We thank God for the 68 students who signed up with us at our booth. My prayer to God is that He will raise His people to rise up and make a difference for Him in SP! As Vision tea is coming next Thursday and AGM on friday, so we really pray that God will bring the freshmen as well as the seniors that we'll be challenged to shine for HIm as light and be salt of the Earth for God's purposes. On 29th April, The MLT (movement Leadership Team, staff and student leaders) celebrated our New Staff, Phyllis' birthday. She was surprised by the ice cream cake, flowers and gifts that came to her from 3 directions at the same time. May the Lord bless her with a memorable 21st Birthday! God, thank you for yet extending my life for 1 more year as i went for my check up today for my Colon. It signifies Your faithfulness to me for the last 7 years :)

My burden heart

My heart cries out to the Lord, I need You Lord! I can't live without You! so many things cries out for my attention that I can't see, hear and sense clearly where You are leading me and the ministry You have entrust to my care. I'm really swept away and overwhelmed by issues i have no answer or no capacity to handle. Lives that need You to touch and minister. I'm not here to please people but my only aim is only to please and love You alone. Please break my heart again for You as i prepare to speak this thursday. Provide and part the obstacles to see Your glory once again. Restore, renew and revive the hearts and lives of the SP crusaders. Holy Spirit, I pray that you will breathe God's new passion, love and fire we desperately need. In Jesus' name i surrender all my heavy, burdened heart and ask for Your heart beat to captivate me again.

A day of workout

Today was a physically tiring day for me as my church mates and I stayed back in church to do spring cleaning in preparation of the evangelistic party we are going to have next saturday after service. It was a good workout for me :) after dinner, some of my helpful churchmates (Johnny, Ah mei Qing Ling and Song Lin) helped me to transport my sofa and book shelf from GCTC. I really thank God for the extra mile they have given to bless me. Tomorrow will be another day of shifting and renovation of my room in view of the new furniture :) God is my strength in whom i trust!!!

God's Rebekah for Isaac

As I sought the Lord 4 days ago regarding His mate for my life, My heart was really burdened as I had to overcome the pain of being rejected and my fears that its my own wishful thinking again. This time its different. very very different. God spoke thru my QT from Genesis 24. It spoke instantly to what was happening in my life and encouraged me to pursue again. To me, Isaac was not actively seeking for a mate (like me, I wasn't actively seeking) but Abraham (God) is concerned about his son (ronald) so he sent his chief servant (Bataa brother) to search a wife for his son. And as the story goes the chief servant completed his task after a series of events and brought "Rebekah" back to his master and to Isaac. One thing that struck me was Rebekah's initiative and active involvement in the whole story. When she asked me that she needs to know my expectation to our relationship? I told God i needed time to seek Him and allow Him to show and direct. I do not want to rush into relationship unless God leads me to. This relationship must be one that is directed to God and will be a blessing to others around us (families of both sides, people we lead and minister). Lord teach me to learn to love you as my top priority so that i can have the capacity to love, accept and cherish her the way you want me to. In Jesus name I surrender this relationship and where You will direct us into your hands I pray. Amen.

God provides! Naked I almost raised

Wow When God provides, he provides more than what we wish or hope for. What was most encouraging is that she decided to join crusade as full-time staff!!!answered prayer from God and now i am not the only full-time staff with 2 stinters but 2 staff and 1 stinter :) Thank you God!!! yesterday night my status has changed :) hehe thanks so much for people who had prayed alongside these 2 days. It will be a new beginning for me :)

God did it again

On 14th April when SP started school, I was praying that God will grant us $200 for our vision tea. I did not know how it will come, but i just trusted God to provide. After lunch, my lecturer called and told me that other than giving gifts and report to the lecturers who supported the needy students who went for GEn12ii, another lecturer gave $200 last week. I was moved to tears as I know that even before i prayed God provided. He knows our every needs to the dot. So SP crusaders, let's trust Him for more. We are meant for more in Jesus!

I also thank God for forming the new MLT - Movement Leadership Team and our new SM- spiritual multipliers. Team, I really thank God for each of you from the bottom of my heart. Let's stay focus and let God strengthen and raise us to soar with Him and for Him to use us to raise the next generations!

God's journey for me

Who God is to me these 11 days and beyond… (God’s track record)
Day One: God who kept us safe

Thank God for bringing the team safely to Phetchabun after 2 hours of flight and 8 hours of van ride.

Day Two: God who broke through our lives

Had enjoyable time of learning Thai and bringing children and team out to fishing and waterfall
God used the passage from Isaiah 61 to encourage the teamWe prayed and trusted God to cause a breakthrough in our lives as we allow Him to.

Day Three: God who empowers

Prayed, ministered and bless 6 families with “kway diao”
People we ministered were abused, helpless, harassed and their lives filled with hurts… God broke my heart to weep for them.

Day Four: God who saves and delivers

HIV lady attended our Good Friday outreach.
God used the simple skit to connect with the issues (drugs, alcohol and family violence) villagers can identify with
12 people responded and prayed to receive Christ (including the HIV lady J) God be the glory!

Day Five: God of grace

Brought about 70 children to waterfall and outing.
Thank God for protecting us. No one get hurt except some cuts on my feet
God’s grace shown to me as I took care of the 3 children attached to me for the outing15 children prayed and received Christ through our simple experiment

Day Six: God, our dear Abba Heavenly Father

Brought the children out to Lan Hin Tek (mountainous area with natural folding by the mighty hands of God)
God’s fatherly love shown visible to me as I took care of the 3 boys
God protected the team again. No one was hurt as the places we went were of high risk nature
Camp fire: Fender passport no power, program (Games, songs and dance) still goes on by faith. Sin yi shared Jer 29:11 to the children and thank God! 17 children received Christ

Day Seven: God of Rest and Sabbath

Team was very tired after 6 days of hard labor and needed rest. ZZZzzz…
God used Matthew 9:35-38 and Psalm 68:5 to speak to me regarding the Hmong Lao refugees
God refreshed us physically, mentally and spiritually
Visited 2 homes we previously visited
Granny-1’s wish to the Lord “Prolong my life so that I can see them come back and visit me before I die.”
Told the team “if they have No COMPASSION, or if you feel that you are not ready, please don’t go up to the refugee camp.”

Day Eight: God of Compassion

8 hours of worship, prayer and intercession
Mare rededicated her life back to the Lord when we were praying and worshipping. God’s transforming power!
God brought forth passion, love and compassion for Him and for the Hmong Lao people

Day Nine: God of Wonders

God used 2 songs (The battle belongs to the Lord and We are here to praise you) to focus on Him as we travel up to refugee camp even though our entry permit was not approved
God used psalm 24: 7-10 to show me that He is the King of Glory. He will battle for us
Went through the gates with thanksgiving in our hearts when our permit was approved! J
God withheld the dark clouds, about 500-600 children came, 60 plus prayed and received Christ! Woman with hurts ministered by skit and started crying and God used that time to bring forth His healing as the team prayed and ministered to the group of women who are in need of His love, touch and healing
In the absence of Nong Aun (teaching 1st aid) Mare led in prayer for the children and also prayed for women who are in need of prayer and ministry from God! God’s transformation in Mare’s life

Day Ten: God of faithfulness

Went in to the refugee camp by faith without permit but God opened the gate again without any hindrances
God worked gently among the women though we missed his timing. We saw His grace to us
About 2000 children came. I was overwhelmed but God gave me strength to finish the race.
Home visitation 3: HIV lady was so joyful that we became her adopted children; Partial Blind granny’s life sharing broke my heart again; Granny1 fell sick with no strength to cook food L Will remember to pray for them and the Hmong Lao

Day Eleven: God who heals

Mare treated Nong Jen, Ning and I a simple sumptuous breakfast.
Partial blind granny brought us to pray for a lady who was suffering breathlessness and icy cold hands and God healed her as we prayed and worshipped. The women gave praise to God! Divine appointment.

Sorry for not updating my thoughts all these months of being silent. God has been good and especially real to me when i led my mission trip team to Thailand, Phetchabun. It has been a life changing journey. 1st Week being the Team leader in SP ministry

Wow! was the words to describe this week for me. I was awed by the fact that this week I'm the team leader, the team member as well as EFG staff. With Priscilla gone in malaysia for her grandpa's wake and SS needed to be off for some important things, I was overwhelmed all the things happening so fast that i have no time to catch a breather.

My prayer to God was "Father, I need you desperately to give me your strength and wisdom to lead this movement. Unless you build this movement, our efforts will totally be in vain. Though I feel so weak and inadequate but my eyes are upon you!

The daily morning prayer tome was crucial for me as it realigned my mind, focus and heart to God. Thank you God for being my strength!

This week started with CCA drive 2 to recruit new members. I thank God for the 8 who are interested to join us. We've to put up a song item at a very last minute notice and Ian, i want to say thank you so much for your availiability to serve in this manner.

Staff Summit 2007

God did it again. Digging ever deeper into my heart to surface areas of my fleshly, selfish and sinful nature that is so against Him. Through Dr Bill Lawrence seminar, I realized how my past hurts, experiences and family up bringing has shaped me to what i am today. He did it so amazingly through case studies and using our inputs to help us surface all these baggages that God wants me to let go. One horror to me was that when I'm stress, my high D will automatically take over and people working under me suffered as i left no room for 'No' as an answer or room to discuss and negotiate, very task oriented at the expand of others' feelings. I thank God for surfacing this RED flag so that i can be a better child of His. One thing i want to do is to extend forgiveness to people who had hurt me especially people I loved. One quote that impacted my heart is "FORGIVENESS DOES NOT CHANGE THE PAST BUT IT DOES EXPAND THE FUTURE" I know at times when the hurts done to us are deep, painful and hard to extend forgiveness, I pray that God's love and grace will grant us the strength to forgive not just the mind but from deep within our hearts. Allow Him to do that heart surgery in us so that we can see breakthrough in our relationship with Him and with others. Forgiveness is the way to find freedom that God wants us to experience.

Quiet Time break through

God I thank you for speaking to me through the passage in Romans 12:1-8, I realised that i need to surrender to you totally, 100% without reserving or keeping any area to myself. Holy spirit, I invite you to search my heart and surface any areas you want to deal with before i take up the role of being the team leader in my campus. Take away my masks that i used to hide my real self. I pray that as i lead this campus, it will not be trying to fit into somebody else's shoes but only what you have for me. Thank you and i want to trust you for breakthru in my walk with you. In Jesus' name. Amen

My greatest Birthday Treat

I asked my Dad out for dinner on 31st august together with my mum, brother and sister-in-law. It was the best birthday dinner i ever had because its the 1st time in my whole life that my dad celebrated together with me. God i really thank you for this very special treat.

My disciple Cornelyus' birthday was on 1st September. We celebrated with him at cafe cartel.

Another treat i remembered was the saturday before, a few of us went for water fest at marina bay (the place where we host our national day parade this year). I had a great time there with water :) especially when our banana boat capsized and all of us were soaked wet in the sea water. it was worth the 1 hour plus wait. Happy Happy Happy!

My Birthday!!!

Today is my birthday!!! 31st August. Its also Malaysia National Day! This year is significant for me as I'm 29 :) My wish list for God
1. Wisdom, strength and courage from God to lead SP campus ministry as I will be the team leader soon.

3. God to provide the funds i need ($300 monthly) as well as the $14,000 for my campus ministry needs for the next 2 years.

Grandma's death

As i update this blog, my grandma has already gone...9 days. I do not know whether she received the Lord or not but i did my part in praying for her and asking her to receive the Lord in my simple Teochew language. The rest I leave it to God's sovereignity for her salvation. This period of time from Hong Kong back till now has been a constant struggle emotionally with the Lord. Like the song in my blog, blessed be your name. Indeed no matter what happens, God's Name is still blessed. He gives and takes away, but my heart will choose to say, Lord blessed be Your name!

Mum in and out of A&E

Last thursday and friday had been a scary time for me as my mum had fits and i had to rush her to hospital in the middle of the night. I'm really shocked to find out the root of her depression dated back 26 years ago while i was 3 years old when my grandpa passed away...god please help me to minister to her.

On 11th July, its just 2 days after my Beggar Mission, I did the most crazy thing in my life and that is to run poly 50. It was really very tiring but it reminded me to run my race of life for Jesus! so though the journey ahead might be tough but just know who you are running this race for! :)

CM and Beggar Mission 2007

Wow, being in Korea, Busan for 10 days was really life transforming as God did His heart surgery in my heart and brought me to a new ground of trusting and having Faith in Him! The Plenary sessions and the workshops did their work in opening my mind and heart to God's words as well as new ideas for ministry. How the Korean students prays really encouraged my heart to cry out to God for revival both in my life and also for my beloved nation Singapore to fulfill God's vision of being Antioch of Asia, a mission sending base to bless any nations. Movements Everywhere...So That Every Student know someone who truly follows Jesus! Be that someone and we are on the journey :) I can't believe that I managed to meet my friend in the midst of 20,000 people. God you are good! Beggar Mission to GongJu gave me the opportunity to trust God to provide for all our needs as we did not have any money. Just our clothes and sleeping bag. Luke 10:1-20 came alive for me through BM. Mongolia Mission Trip March 2007

Colorado state university Staff Conference

Been a long while since i've updated this blog. I'm now currenetly in US for a staff conference from 12th July to 30th July. I thank God for providing all the funds that i need for this trip. Its going to be an exciting learning journey allowing God to speak to me through the different world class speakers. Hope to share more exciting stuff when i go back to Singapore.

CCA week, Welcome Tea & 1st CLM

School term began with a big bang of activities like CCA week (30th May - 3rd June) where we have booth in the SP sports hall. The whole process was tiring and hot as there was not enough ventilation in the hall. However, we managed to have 140+ students signed up with us at our booth.

on 07/06/05 We had our welcome tea, we thank God for bringing the 60 over freshmen students to attend our welcome tea. Chang Yao challenged us with a message to be light of the world to light up our campus with the gospel of Christ!

Our very 1st Campus Life Meeting started this 14/06/05 as I spoke with fear and trembling to exhort us to run and finish the race of our lives. We hope to build students deeply in God's Word. Impart Vision of our ministry, Community of Christ-centred and people friendly community and Unity within the Crusaders.

Our enrollment team finally close with a celebration and evaluation at SP staff lounge. Thank God for bringing us through and giving us the opportunity to trust Him to overcome battles that we fought for the sake of our next generation of freshmen students.

WELL DONE! GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT!

Combine Poly Chalet Thanksgiving

It was an exciting journey to see 83 students attending our combine Poly Chalet. It has been the 1st time i coordinated such a big chalet for students. In the process of preparation 2 important things happened . 17th May, My collegue and friend, Christopher Tan has just ended his 1 year battle against Lukemia and has finally been called home by the Lord at the age of 28. My grandma went through her operation for her breast cancer on 18th May. I was amazed that she was discharged the following day and is able to move around at home. Praise God!

The song you are hearing on this blog is what God has been speaking to me through the life of Job. The bridge spoke a lot to me. He gave and take away, He gave and take away, my heart will choose to say, Lord blessed be your name.

Combine Poly Chalet

BBQ thanksgiving

It was really amazing for what the Lord has done on the perfect day 05/05/05. We had our very first BBQ for freshmen. It was the biggest ever BBQ I've ever organised in my whole life with 98 students who attended. My heart is full of thanksgiving to God for what He had done in bringing each and every freshmen. Though the heavy shower of blessings came so unexpectedly, but God is still in control. Enrollment Thanksgiving

Wow I really thank God how He brought us through this 1 week of intensive freshmen recruitment. It was really tiring, both mentally and physically. Thank God for the 6 freshmen who prayed and received Christ! Please pray for good follow through process.

In the midst of all this rejoicing, I got to know my grandma is having 3rd stage breast cancer. time is short and please pray for someone to share the gospel in Teo Chew to her. Cos my Teo Chew really sucks....

2 months of wakes

I can't take it anymore... my heart has been shattered time after time these 2 months. So many people i know died within this 2 months (8 wakes at a go). God my heart really hurts, tears flowing like water fall... You gave and take away, you gave and take away, my heart will choose to say, Lord blessed be your name.
I finally understood what it means to rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourns. The hardest blow came on 13th April, when my SP course mate, fellow crusade mate, supporter and friend, Luda Tan Kwang passed away while running on the track mill. It was a big blow right into the core of my being. I've attended his wedding last month and never to expect to attend his wake. His wife was my fellow mission trip mate to Mongolia 7 years ago. Life is indeed unpredictable. No one can choose which day, hour, place he is going to be born or die. God has the final say to the span of our lives. We might not know why but God knows and He is in control.

My Colon operation 3rd anniversary

As I took time today to remember Good Friday, I also remembered the day that i experienced the most pain in my colon 3 years ago after my operation. I suffered from multiple polyposis (Symptoms may include diarrhea, bleeding from the end portion of the large intestine (rectum), fatigue, abdominal pain, and weight loss. If left untreated, affected individuals usually develop cancer of the colon and/or rectum.) at the age of 23. The operation took 1 meter of my big intestine. Haha by now you can guess how Old I am :)

3 Days after that painful & dreadful day, a miracle happened, I was able to move about in my ward. My parents were surprised to see that.

Jesus died for you and I on the cross where all the weight of our sins were placed upon Him, the perfect lamb of God who takes away our sins. He did not stopped there, but he rose again on the 3rd day!

Gloomy Day

Yesterday 11March, I went to Timothy's Dad wake & all the way to Mandai crematory. It was a reminder for me that though we mourn for the lost of Timothy's dad but our mourning is with hope because we will see him again one day in heaven.

I was shocked when i reached SP today to hear that a NIE student that i knew committed sucide...She was in my Metamorphosis Conference class 2 years ago. I really wondered what happened to her that caused her to give up hope on life and on God?

This Question asked by a student "Does Christians who commit sucide goes to heaven?"
To me, I'm not sure but what do you think?

The heat is on! as i wait patiently and get myself ready and prepared to send the 27 SP students out into the harvest field to be a blessing while our elite team of students will be battling on our campus for the next generation. Please pray for me that I will have the boldness, courage and wisdom to lead the team on! For the battle belongs to God!

Today I was glad to be sharing my thoughts during PXP about what it means 'blessed to be a blessing!' God has blessed us so much that we can be a blessing to others (Gen12:2-3) I thank our Heavenly PaPa for his providence of the funds i need to raise. A BIG THANK YOU to my Enrolment Committee as we stay together as a team to fight for our next generation of SP freshmen. Let's press on together in trusting God! Indeed we are blessed to be a blessing for those who are going for Gen12II & for those of us staying back we are blessed to be a blessing to the next generation.
